International Association of Philophonetics & Psychophonetics Psychotherapy
The International Association of Philophonetics & Psychophonetics
Psychotherapy seeks to promote the study of Philophonetics, Psychophonetics
counselling and psychotherapy and its practice and to advance the ethical
practice of Psychophonetics psychotherapy across a range of settings encouraging
human, environmental and spiritual wellbeing. It seeks to create, maintain
and to develop a professionally-based association which is inclusive,
representative, holistic and respectful on all levels of being.
The association is an association of professionals who are qualified as
Philophonetics and Psychophonetics psychotherapy practitioners or who
have graduated with a Diploma in Applied Philophonetics in a specialized
field. It was initially first formed as an informal association in Melbourne
in 1997 after the first group of practitioners had graduated with the
Diploma of Philophonetics- Counselling Practitioner. The process to establish
a professional association has been in progress since then with the first
draft of the founding constitution distributed in March 2000.
There are currently 3 branches of Persephone College with students completing
their 3rd year of training, in Melbourne and South Africa, to become qualified
Psychophonetics practitioners.
The motivation to formalise the association by 2005 arose from the big
increase in the number of new graduates by 2005; developments in the field
of counselling and psychotherapy; registration requirements; to uphold
professional standards, codes of practice and a desire to create a collegial
and social forum between centres and practitioners across Australia and
South Africa.
